History of the Shed Building
Located in the heart of downtown, The Shed has proudly served as a gathering place for friends, families, and neighbors for more than 50 years. Housed in a historic brick building, The Shed is more than just a place to eat - it's a living part of our community's story.
The building that houses The Shed dates back to the early 1900s. Over the decades, it served the town in many forms - from a bowling alley to a hardware store - but in the 1940s it took on a new life when the south side of the building was transformed into McGinley's Tavern. The space later evolved into Hook's Bar, which operated from 1951 to 1973, when Hooks sold the bar to their daughter, Randy, and her husband,
Tony Prem. In 1975, Prems purchased the north side of the building, fully renovating the space, and introduced the community to The Shed. the legacy continued in 2004 when Mark and Wynn Dedrick became the proud owners, carrying on the tradition with care and dedication for nearly two decades. In 2023, The Shed entered its newest chapter under the ownership of Troy and Jennifer Day and Shannan and Nikki Stephens.
As we look ahead, we remain committed to preserving the history we're built on while embracing the future. Whether you're a regular or visiting for the first time, we thank you for being part of our story - and for allowing us to be part of yours. Welcome to The Shed!
